New Germany, MN Farm House

This Hobby farm in New Germany, Minnesota was renovated in 2004.  The 9.5 acre property featured a, “4-square”, farm house that originally had four bedrooms and one bath and had been built at the turn of the 20th century.  It needed a lot of help and another bathroom so we converted one of the bedrooms into bathroom and proceeded to rebuild the entire place.

Exterior; First, we built an attached three stall garage and resided the house.  We installed new windows, gutters and downspouts, added new railings and lattice work on a deck that surrounded the house and category 5 low-voltage cable was pulled for cable television and internet service.  Separate air conditioning systems on the first and second floors enabled comfort control and higher efficiency.

Interior; besides the new master bath on the second floor, both the kitchen and bathroom on the first floor were gutted and reconstructed.  Custom cabinets and Silestone Granite tops were installed along with stainless steel appliances.  The floor of the laundry area and the adjacent kitchen and bathroom were covered in ceramic tile.  The entire house was painted, the wood trim was re-toned and carpet was installed over wood flooring that was beyond repair.(Click images for larger view )
